PROSTATE SCREENINGS
Northside Hospital is offering free PSA (prostate-specific antigen) blood tests and rectal exams.
Eligibility:
- Men ages 40-75
- Men who have never been diagnosed with prostate cancer
- Men who haven’t had a prostate exam within the past year
- Men who are uninsured or have limited insurance coverage

Who should be screened?
The American Cancer Society recommends that men discuss the benefits and limitations of early detection, beginning at age 50, if they are at average risk for the disease, and, beginning at age 45, if they are at high risk.
Men at High Risk include:
- African American men
- Men with first-degree relative (father, brother, son)
diagnosed at an early age (before 65)
Men with several first-degree relatives who had prostate cancer at an early age, should discuss the pros and cons of early screening with their physician, beginning at age 40. Men are encouraged to talk with their healthcare provider to determine if testing is appropriate for them.

Lung Cancer Screenings
Northside Hospital will be offering lung screening for eligible candidates at a discounted rate.
- Are you age 50 or older?
- Do you have a family history of lung or other cancers?
- Do you smoke, have you smoked in the past, or have you been exposed to second-hand smoke?
- Have you worked in an environment where you were exposed to substances that could cause cancer?
