Fluoroscopy is an X-ray technique that, in conjunction with oral and IV contrast, helps diagnose problems with the bowel, kidneys, gallbladder, stomach, upper GI and joints.
Length of procedure:
Most fluoroscopy studies take between 45 and 60 minutes.
General preparation prior to procedure:
If you think you may be pregnant, please inform your physician or the technologist before
your exam.
If you have a known contrast allergy and are scheduled for an exam that requires contrast, please contact your physician or the imaging location where you are having your exam as soon as possible.
